Overview
Katherm HK E units, at the cost of a 2-pipe unit, provide considerable savings compared to a traditional 4-pipe system in terms of the entire pipework within the floors and riser pipes, including the distribution pipes, connection pipework, fittings and valves. The unit therefore conserves raw materials, material costs as well as installation and commissioning costs. By massively reducing CO2 emissions along the value chain, the use of the Katherm HK E has a positive impact on the carbon footprint of a building.
Katherm HK trench systems deliver energy-efficient and sound-optimized heating and cooling at all system temperatures, also when operated with low water temperatures and heat pumps. They are suitable for use in all kinds of buildings in which there is a primarily higher cooling load owing to internal loads and the effects of sunlight due to large areas of glazing.
A special feature of the Katherm HK is its air outlet, optimized in terms of short-circuiting. This is achieved by an ideally coordinated layout as well as air flow in the Katherm HK. This generates a higher discharge pulse, which ensures a more uniform temperature distribution and comfort in the occupied zone. The unit is finished by an air flow-optimized roll-up and linear grille.
In cooling mode, low air discharge speeds and an optimized air outlet ensure optimum comfort in the room. The cooled air rising up the facade forms a drum of warm air and flows draft-free into the room. This ensures the best possible shielding of the facade and cost-effective cooling of the room.
The units are very often used in acoustically sensitive spaces, as the quietly-running tangential fans are mounted in a sound-decoupled manner by the innovative combined coupling/ball joint system. For maintenance purposes, the fan can be easily removed and reinstalled without tools. This saves significant installation time.
The units can be simply connected to building management systems, such as Modbus, BACnet and KNX. This connectivity ensures enhanced optimization of the overall operation, at the same time increasing comfort.
Rooms that have relatively static heating requirements, such as hallways, hotel lobbies, conservatories or living rooms, are particularly suitable for use with Katherm NK units. Thanks to the coils, which are optimized in terms of output, energy-saving operation can be achieved with low water temperatures and heat pumps, keeping the operating costs low.
The hygiene of Katherm HK units conforms to VDI 6022. Thanks to their well-thought-out design, they can be thoroughly cleaned with ease in accordance with the requirements of the Hygiene Directive VDI 6022. The condensate tray, which can be pulled out toward the room, enables the tray to be completely cleaned, making the Katherm HK hygienically flawless.
Each Katherm HK unit is equipped with a condensate tray that collects condensate generated in cooling mode and safely drains it out of the trench. Condensate drains along a natural gradient or optionally by a condensate pump supplied separately or factory-fitted.

→ Discover moreKatherm HK units with supply air function are perfectly suited to supply primary air (fresh air) into a space, seamlessly combining heating, cooling and a supply of fresh air. There are two versions available: primary air intake via supply air modules or through supply air trenches. In both versions, the primary air volume flow exits the trench at a minimal and low-turbulence air discharge speed. The volume of air supplied can be adjusted as required by means of air sliders.
