Optimum upper-class indoor air conditions
Kampmann is supplying an optimum indoor climate in the new luxury residential skyscraper designed by the world-famous architect Odile Decq (Studio Odile Decq). The property was developed by the Shaftesbury Asset Management Group, a leading European real estate investment, fund and asset firm. The graceful and luxurious building is now embellishing the skyline in Barcelona, Spain.
But the building is not only visually high-end. Its air conditioning technology also meets these requirements perfectly.
The customised Katherm HK trench heaters meet the individual climatic requirements of the 26-storey building that extends to a height of 100 metres. 540 Katherm HK were used with heating and cooling functions over: a total length of 1300 metres. Due to the aesthetic design of the building, special versions of the units had to be designed with mitred corners and column recesses. The trench heaters are also designed to provide a step on the room side. As the grilles has to match the interior architectural scheme, Decq opted for "bronze anodise" roll-up grilles. Kampmann also supplied empty trenches to achieve a continuous grille appearance.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedrooms and living room, as well as kitchens and bathrooms, provide a magnificent view of the city. However, this also requires a specially designed air conditioning concept. To support the attractive interior design, Kampmann supplied the Katherm HK trench heaters as inserts in the floor or raised floor. There are no visible radiators in front of the glass frontages.
The building’s facilities offer different functions, which had to be taken into account when planning the air conditioning. Antares offers for purchase luxurious 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments, duplexes and penthouses, starting at €850,000.
Residences range in size from 100 sq m to 400 sq m each with private terraces (up to 160 sq m). The property also offers a curated collection of lifestyle and wellness amenities including The Sky Terrace featuring an infinity pool on the roof; garden pavilion and paddle court, a popular sport in Spain; fully equipped Technogym fitness centre with free weights and cardio machines; indoor pool and jacuzzi; yoga pod and bespoke steam rooms and sauna. Located on the ground floor of the building, the Grand Café Rouge restaurant, overseen by Michelin-star chef Romain Fornell, has a large, curved, 9-metre-high glass façade. Here, Kampmann designed a special version of the trench heater in the same shape as the glazing and set a total of 40 metres of curved Katherm HK into the floor. All trench heaters require exact site measurement to create an optimum, individual solution for the respective property.
Kampmann pays great attention to energy efficiency and sustainability in all its products. Accordingly, the Antares features highly efficient EC tangential fans in the trench heaters. Due to their low power consumption, the Katherm HK units work very economically. Continuously variable control simplifies their operation. The unit is also very quiet with minimal sound vales. The advantageous design of the unit means that maintenance and cleaning is very easy.
