Prestigious new building in the historic centre of Haselünne
Building owner: Hänsch Firmengruppe
Town/City: Haselünne
The charming town of Haselünne lies in the heart of the Emsland region of Germany. The town's importance for the region came from the distillery situated there. Today Haselünne is still known as the "Grain and Hanseatic City". In its heyday in the 18th and 19th centuries, the town was home to dozens of businesses, three of which remain today. The products produced by these traditional companies are also available in the new EDEKA supermarket, located in the heart of the historic centre of Haselünne. The supermarket, which opened at the end of 2014, is attracting customers with its friendly and open atmosphere – and its excellent interior climate. Kampmann units, centrally controlled by a KaControl regulation system are responsible for the supermarket's interior climate.
A Kampmann air handling unit is responsible for centralised ventilation and cooling incorporating Kampmann Ka2O modules. Ka2O technology is a pioneering principle, which cools indirectly and regeneratively with water. Unlike conventional evaporation cooling systems, in the Ka2O module, the exhaust air is humidified directly in the heat exchanger itself. The outside temperature can be cooled by up to 18 K through the special geometry of the fins and air routing in the heat exchanger. The modular design also prevents pressure losses, ensuring a tailored design. The units can be combined with three modules producing 1,200 m³/h and up to 60 modules producing 24,000 m³ air volume. The Edeka supermarket in Haselünne, which has 1,500 sq m of retail space, has 24 modules with a nominal air volume of 9,600 m³/h. Heat recovery is active in winter. Combined with a supplementary heating coil, fed in Haselünne by waste heat from the freezer chests, no additional boiler-generated heat needs to be used. The individually configured unit used meets the strict requirements of the 2018 Energy-related Products Directive (ErP) already.
A Kampmann Airblock FG is used for a very special purpose in Haselünne. The slim-line unit for heating, cooling, ventilating and filtering is used in the EDEKA supermarket to provide hygienic screening for the fresh food counter. Air is drawn in behind the counter and discharged with positive pressure through ventilation slots in front of the counter. The comfortable warmth generated by a Tandem door air curtain welcomes customers in at the entrance to the supermarket, where two attractive Ultra unit heaters are also fitted. A TOP unit heater is responsible for efficiently generating heat in the store rooms.
