With outstretched arms, a human figure stands on the top of the Eindhoven church tower, like they are about to do a bungee jump. It is Jesus. Of course, this was not the impression intended by the builders of the Augustinian Church. At that time, the popular sport of bungee jumping was still in the distant future and the figure was supposed to symbolically bless the city, in the centre of which the high church tower is located. But today, the larger-than-life statue is still known by the inhabitants as "Jumping Jesus" and is a minor tourist attraction.

This mixture of secular fun and Christian worship, which emanates from the statue, can serve as a symbol for the present-day purpose of the Church. Because the days when High Sunday Mass was still celebrated in the church are long gone. Today, the complex of church and adjacent monastery are used as an event centre and hotel. Without losing its reverent character: weddings and wakes are the order of the day at the DOMUSDELA. But also company parties, conferences and concerts. And, the venerable rooms had to be fitted with adequate ventilation and air conditioning equipment for these purposes.

This is also the case in the restaurant De Refter, the name of which relates to the building's monastic past: De Refter is the Dutch name for the dining area of an abbey. And that's exactly what it looks like here today: rough brick walls, colourfully glazed windows, brick arches and herringbone parquet define the look of the spacious high-ceilinged room. Ceilings that are high enough to provide enough space for Kampmann RRA tubular diffusers.
